Medical engineering faculty - unique; he is created for preparation of specialists on the biomedical engineering, new speciality, to widespread in highly developed countries.

Medical engineers are bachelors and specialists on development and maintenance of apparatus, which is used in surgery and therapy, otolaryngology and ophthalmology, orthopaedy and travmatologii, anaesthesia and reanimation, radiology, laparoskopichnoy surgery, endovaskulyarnoy surgery, technologies of lasers, ultrasonic researches, to stomatology et cetera. Such disciplines, as production of the medical knitted fabric, are first taught students, medical materialoznavstvo.

On the first course students master medicine of healthy human body: normal physiology, anatomy, histology, physical culture, highest mathematics, physics, computer and social studies.

On the second course they study disciplines which are connected with ability to live of the organism influenced by illnesses: pathological physiology, clinical pathology, biochemistry, medical biophysics, biomechanics, and also disciplines of a fundamental cycle.

On the third course they master bases of so called medical technologies - equipments and tools which are used in the basic clinical specialities. The metrology and standardization, technical material study and other disciplines aere studied.

On the fourth course continues teaching of medical and general electronics, bases of its manufacture, a labour safety and safety of life, bases of law, medical material study, methods of aseptics and antiseptics, a course of pharmacology and manufacture of medicines proceeds.

Students protect baccalaureate work and receive a degree of the bachelor on a professional orientation " Electronic devices ".

On the fifth course there is profound studying of new medical technologies connected with the use in medicine of the newest achievements of modern technics - lasers, ultrasound, optical technologies, radiology and rehntgenology, anesthesiology and resuscitation.

During the time of studying students have three practices: after the second course - industrial (at a factory on manufacture of the medical equipment), medical-technical - on the third and predegree - on the fifth course.

Master's practice consists in development of the scientific and pedagogical program.

Studying is finished with protection of the diploma of specialist (master) which shows theoretical and creative preparation of the future experts - engineers in branch of development and operation of medical devices and equipment.

The license received by the ISU from the Ukrainian Ministry of Education and Science gives the right to give education to foreign citizens.
