For the future specialists preparation in a direction "biology", speciality "biology" (7.070402) with the ISU profilization "Landscape designing, zoo-and phytodesign" is carried out. Step preparation is carried out on three educational-qualifying levels: the Bachelor, the Specialist and the Master. Educational level of Bachelor - a speciality "Biology", specializations biology. Qualification - biologist. Educational levels of Specialist and Master - speciality "Biology", specialization - biology and bioecology. Qualification - biologist and bioecologist, teacher of biology and ecology.

Studying on a speciality "Biology" is directed at preparation of new generation of experts in priority directions of biology and ecology, in which in Ukraine and in the world there is a lack of experts: 1) studying and preservation of a biological variety; 2) bioecology and monitoring of an environment. ISU is a unique higher educational institution of Ukraine in which there is preparation on bioecology, computer modelling of molecular-genetic and ecological processes and bioengineering.

Professional rights of the graduate. The graduate-bachelor has the right to work on posts: elder laboratorian at institutions of biological, medical and agricultural structure, the employee in firms on trade of plants, animals, biological products. The graduate has the right to continue education for reception of qualifying levels of Specialist and Master.

The graduate-specialist (master) has the right to work as the teacher of biological college, grammar school, liceum (Master - of higher educational institution), the engineer and the younger scientific employee in research instututions, the reviewer and the adviser in business firms. At presence of the recommendation from ISU the graduate has an opportunity to continue education in postgraduate study with the purpose of preparation and protection of candidate dissertation.

Small study groups - up to 10-15 students, streams up to 30 persons - allow to make effective individual preparation of students, to make corrections in their mastering of a material.

Study process is carried out according to study plan approved by the Ministry of Science and Education of Ukraine.

During first two years students study three cycles of the obligatory normative disciplines stipulated in State standard of education of Ukraine: the humanitarian disciplines, fundamental natural disciplines and profession-focused disciplines of a biological structure.

Starting with the 3-rd year of study, to these cycles disciplines of specialization (zoology or botany on student's choice) and professional disciplines corresponding specialities "Biology" with the ISU profilization are added.

During the 5-th year of study students have profound preparation on disciplines of ecological structure, and also special courses on computer modelling of molecular-genetic processes and bioengineering and ecological modelling. Laboratory practical works are conducted on the basis of ISU, and also in scientific laboratories of institutes of zoology, botany, hydrobiology of Science Academy, Institute of oncology and radiology, Central botanic garden of Science Academy and so on. After the first and second courses students pass an obligatory field educational practice. Bases of practice are park "Foresters", national parks "Skolievsk Beskids" (Lvov) and "Podolsk Tovtrs", natural reserves Kanevsky and Polessky.

The license received by the ISU from the Ukrainian Ministry of Education and Science gives the right to give education to foreign citizens.
