The entrance in the market economy has caused the necessity of qualitatively new concept of preparation by higher educational institutions of Ukraine of the experts-economists capable:
to form the purposes and the concept of financial activity of subjects of housekeeping;
to develop effective financial strategy;
to carry out the control over performance of financial and administrative decisions;
to use the newest approaches to management and acceptance of optimum administrative decisions in the sphere of financial-credit activity;
to operate monetary streams of the enterprise, profit, the capital and investments;
to define optimum structure of the capital and sources of financing;
to analyze and develop methods of preventive maintenance of financial crisis at the enterprise;
to count profitableness and risk of formation of an investment portfolio;
to apply modern information and computer technologies, methods of economic-mathematical modelling;
to introduce financial products in the market of financial services.
The graduates who have received a profession of the economist of the finance, are prepared for work in different spheres of financial activity.
In sphere of financial intermediary: monetary intermediary of financial organizations, connected with the maintenance and redistribution of financial assets in the form of deposits, financial leasing, granting of credits; accommodation of financial assets, capital investments in securities and real estate, optional agreements and other arbitration operations; operations of financial holding companies.
In sphere of insurance: life insurance and accumulation, the state and not state pension funds, other kinds of insurance, auxiliary activity in sphere of the finance and insurances.
In sphere of management of the financial markets: management of portfolios of securities - broker operations with securities, release and registration of securities, the control and regulation of a portfolio of actives, other activity connected with stock exchanges - intermediary in crediting, financial consultations, activity connected with a foreign currency, management of portfolios of securities which belong to the third parties, activity of insurance agents and experts on estimation of insurance risk and losses. to define optimum structure of the capital and sources of financing; to analyze and develop methods of preventive maintenance of financial crisis at the enterprise.
Operations with the real estate on behalf of the third parties - estimation of real estate and the ground areas.
Upon having the recommendation from faculty, the graduate of a qualifying level of Specialist or Master has an opportunity to continue training in postgraduate study with the purpose of preparation and protection of the Master's thesis.
The study process is carried on full-time and part-time forms according to the curriculum, which corresponds with the standard approved by the Ministry of Science and Education of Ukraine. It has obligatory under the standard set of disciplines, which students need to learn for reception of the bachelor's, specialist's, master's degrees.
During first three years students study normative disciplines from two cycles:
humanitarian preparation, namely, according to the standard: philosophy, religion study, logic, ethics and an aesthetics, cultural science, psychology and pedagogics, physical training, Ukrainian language and foreign languages (according to the professional direction), jurisprudence, political science, history of Ukraine, sociology, ecology, safety of life; optionally: history of Jewish people, business etiquette;
natural-scientific and economic preparations, namely, according to the standard: political economy, micro-economics, macroeconomic, history of economic doctrines, economic history, the module of the mathematician for economists (higher mathematics, probability theory and mathematical statistics, mathematical programming), statistics, computer science and computer technics, economy of the enterprise, management, marketing, the module the Finance, monetary circulation and the credit (the finance, money and credit, finance of the enterprises, investment), the module the Account, the analysis and audit (the account, audit, the economic analysis), economy of work and sociolabor relations, the international economy, economic legislation, state regulation of economy, accommodation of productive forces and regional economy, a civil defence, bases of a labour safety.
Starting with the third year of studying, to these cycles disciplines of specialization are added according to the standard: tax system, insurance services, the financial analysis, bank operations, budgetary system, the financial market, financial activity of subjects of housekeeping, information systems and technologies in the finance, the financial right; on a choice: optimization of tax planning, the account and audit in banks, the analysis and the forecast of dynamic numbers; optionally: financial mathematics, foreign trade activities, management of firm of small and average business, the analysis of investment projects, stock exchange market.
On the fifth course students study professional-focused disciplines and special courses:
- on a speciality 7.050104" Finance " (specialist) according to the standard: financial management, budgetary management, social insurance, tax management, the market of financial services, financial sanitation and bankruptcy, the local finance; optionally: share and currency transactions on the Internet (electronic commerce), an estimation of business, the analysis of bank activity, the international finance, non-material actives, estimation and legal protection of intellectual property;
- on a speciality 8.050104 "Finance" (master) according to the standard: strategic management, financial management, management of the personnel, the international management, the market of financial services, managements of financial sanitation of the enterprise; optionally: management of financial risks, managements of the finance of joint-stock company, currency transactions in Internet (electronic commerce), financial management in small business, an estimation and a legal protection of intellectual property, an estimation of business.
On IV course students have a practice (3 weeks), and on V course - a predegree practice (7 weeks).
